David J. Contis founded Agora Advisors, Inc in 2016. Through Agora Advisers Inc, David provides consulting services to international and domestic real estate, retail companies and private equity funds. David has 40 years of broad-based expertise in domestic and international commercial real estate, governance, operations, distressed debt, and capital markets.  He has extensive managerial experience in operating, financing, leasing, and redeveloping regional malls and shopping centers in North and South America.  David’s is currently a Director of Equity Lifestyle Centers (ELS: NYSE), an owner/operator of manufactured home and RV resort communities; Chairman of the Board of CBL Properties, (CBL:NYSE) an owner of malls and open air shopping center in the USA; a board member of Acosta Verde, a publicly held Mexican company (GAV: BMV -Mx) that owns necessity-based shopping centers in Mexico; Senior Managing Director of Chai Trust Company, the trustee of the Zell family trust; and a director of ARG Realty, a private company focused on income producing commercial real estate in Argentina. His prior board experience includes board membership on brMalls, (BZ: BRML3), Brazil’s largest mall operator; Kuwait Energy (Kuwait Stock Exchange); Thousand Trails RV resort; Dundee Realty (TSE:D); and the International Council of Shopping Centers.
