The Steelmaking and Mining Plenary at ABM WEEK - 7th Edition will discuss one of the most relevant issues for both the academia and the industry, which is the low demand for Metallurgical and Mining Engineering courses by students in recent years, causing the closing of courses, especially in private schools, and the lack of vacancies in the companies, or their occupation by professionals from other fields.

What has caused young students\' lack of interest in this sector? How are other countries facing this problem? What can be done by academia and industry to reverse this situation? These questions will be debated by representatives of some of the main companies and universities in Brazil.
