Paula Peirão

Paula Peirão iniciou sua carreira no HSBC Asset Management como analista financeira, onde também foi co-gestora do fundo ISE (Índice de Sustentabilidade Empresarial) e responsável pela análise ESG de renda variável e renda fixa na América Latina. Possui quinze anos de experiência em finanças sustentáveis, desenvolvendo estratégias de integração de sustentabilidade em instituições financeiras, incluindo incorporação de análise de risco socioambiental e elaboração de novos mecanismos financeiros nos segmentos de crédito, investimento e seguro. Atualmente, Paula é coordenadora regional associada para América Latina e Caribe da UNEP FI (United Nations Environment Programme - Finance Iniciative). Também exerceu o cargo de vice-presidente de ESG na Vert Capital.  Anteriormente atuou como Partnership Manager do Ifacc (Inovação Financeira para Amazonia Cerrado e Chaco) iniciativa conjunta da TNC (The Nature Conservancy), Tropical Forest Alliance do Fórum Econômico Mundial e UNEP. Paula também teve passagens como especialista em finanças sustentáveis no WWF-Brasil, assim como no Centro de Estudos em Sustentabilidade da FGV (Fundação Getulio Vargas). Bacharel em Engenharia de Produção pela Stanford University, California, EUA, possui Especialização em Gestão de Sustentabilidade pela FGV-Eaesp (Escola de Administração de Empresas de São Paulo) e Mestrado em Relações Internacionais pela IE Madrid (Instituto Empresa).

Paula Peirão started her career at HSBC Asset Management as a financial analyst, where she was also co-manager of the ISE Fund (Corporate Sustainability Index Fund), being also responsible for ESG analysis of equities and fixed income in Latin America.  She has fifteen years of experience in sustainable finance, developing sustainability integration strategies in financial institutions, including the incorporation of socio-environmental risk analysis and the development of new financial mechanisms in the credit, investment and insurance segments. Paula is currently the Associate Regional Coordinator for Latin America and the Caribbean at UNEP FI (UNEP Finance Initiative). She also held the position of Vice President of ESG at VERT Capital. Peirão previously served as Partnership Manager of Ifacc (Innovative Finance for the Amazon, Cerrado and Chaco), joint initiative of TNC (The Nature Conservancy), Tropical Forest Alliance of the World Economic Forum and UNEP (United Nations Environment Program). She also worked as a specialist in sustainable finance at WWF-Brasil and at the Center for Sustainability Studies at FGV (Fundação Getulio Vargas). Paula holds a bachelor’s degree in Production Engineering from Stanford University, California, USA. She has a Major in Sustainability Management from FGV-EAESP (São Paulo School of Business Administration of Fundação Getulio Vargas) and holds a Master’s Degree in International Relations from IE-Madrid (Instituto Empresa).
