Biografia do Palestrante:
Álvaro Ríos is Senior Partner of DrillingInfo and Gas Energy Latin America (GELA). He leads and performs advisory studies across the whole value chain of different energy sources, with a focus on natural gas, oil and electric power.
Prior to joining DrillingInfo and GELA in 2008, Mr. Ríos was Executive Secretary of the Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE), a multi-governmental organization based in Quito, Ecuador (2006 to 2007) and Minister of Mines and Energy of Bolivia (2003 to 2004). He has a degree in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University and postgraduate studies in Chemical Engineering from University of Houston.
As an academic, Mr. Rios has taught energy master graduate programs in Bolivia. He has also design energy masters and postgraduate programs for the Universidad Privada Boliviana (UPB) and has taught several courses in various Latin American universities.
He is frequently invited to give talks and participate in conferences on energy issues and natural gas in particular in Latin America, North America and Europe. He has publications and reports in several technical energy magazines.
