Italo is an adviser at the BIS Innovation Hub, supporting the DLT projects at the Hong Kong Centre.Specialist in blockchain, web3 and decentralized identity, he worked from 2017 to 2023 atConsensys, as a software engineer and co-founding Serto Identity, an enterprise solution fordecentralized corporate identity. From 2016 to 2017, he was CTO of a credit card acquirer in Brazil.In 2010, he co-founded Velis, a sales team management SaaS, working as an entrepreneur until2016. From 2007 until 2014, he worked as an entrepreneur launching the first mobile tradingplatform in Brazil which has been distributed by Agência Estado, ìgora brokerage house andTIM (Telecom Italia Mobile) Brazil. Between 2005 and 2007, he was technical director of asoftware house with over 120 software developers. Before that, he worked as a softwareengineer for small startups. Italo is a Brazilian and graduated in Computer Science from theFederal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) in 2000
