José Ribau Esteves

Born in Luanda on 21 October 1966, José Agostinho Ribau Esteves graduated in Zootechnical Engineering from UTAD/Vila Real in 1985/1990 and worked as Commercial Director of Purina Portugal between 1991 and 1997.He served as a councilor on Ílhavo Town Council from 1990 to 1993, and was elected to the presidency of the municipality from 1998 to 2013 by the Social Democratic Party (of which he was Secretary-General from October 2007 to June 2008). He was also President of the Oceano XXI Association (which manages the Knowledge and Economy of the Sea Cluster).He currently chairs the Aveiro City Council and is, among other things, Vice-Chairman of the ANMP Board of Directors and a member of the European Union Committee of the Regions.
