Helena Vieira

Biografia do Palestrante:

Helena has over 24 years of professional experience in academia, industry and policy. Currently a Senior Coordinator Researcher in Environmental Economics & Sustainable Natural Resources Management at U Aveiro/CESAM, she is responsible for coordinating a new research team, joining natural and socio-economics sciences, to develop further knowledge on environment and ecosystems valorisation and develop sustainable future solutions. She is also Chair of the Scientific Committee of the CBE-JU, to promote bioeconomy and circularity models and is an EU Mission Oceans and Waters Board Member bridging the mission implementation between EU and Portugal. Previously acted as Director General of Maritime Policy, Minister of the Sea (2020-2022), she is an international recognised expert in Blue Bioeconomy and Ocean affairs.
